Why don’t you?
When I started my artist journey and after playing with various bands, I wanted to go solo and start playing live acoustic gigs.
Even so I had been a session musician and had already performed in many big venues, TV shows, radios etc, the thought of being on stage on my own petrified me.
I wanted to start doing open mikes and solo shows but kept postponing it, always thinking I needed more time to get ready.
I used to practice like mad until my fingers and throat hurt.

One day I went to Liverpool to do a vocal session for a couple of music producers.
during the lunch break I said to them:
- I wish I could do what you guys do, produce my own solo project.
One of the guys simply said
and WHY DONT YOU?
His tone of voice was short, blunt and surprised.
The kind of tone that says, please don’t give me a bunch of lame excuses for not doing it.
This simple question changed my life.
And that was when I started putting myself out there and having the courage to not be perfect in front of others.
Don’t get me wrong, I am a perfectionist, I try my best to produce the best work I can.
But the best is not always perfect.
No one is perfect.
And just like this question changed my life I hope it inspires you too.
